My two crazy hounds - Duke and Elsie!
As we progress through the various stages of the class Educational Uses of the Internet, I regret that the internet and various technologies were not available when I was in school. The internet has certainly opened up a world of opportunity not only for teaching, but also for students as they seek out information for learning.I was absolutely amazed by the webquest activity. What a creative way to engage students in learning! Therefore, I decided to post information on what topics I am considering for creating my webquest. Not being a teacher, it is difficult for me to decide what curriculum I will incorporate into my webquest. After pondering for a bit, I've scaled my topics down to a webquest about karate to focus on physical education or a webquest about baking which would incorporate the math curriculum. I think both would focus on the elementary grade levels.I'm looking foward to developing my webquest, hearing your thoughts and comments and hopefully educating everyone in this class about karate.Hi-ya!ess through the various stages of the class Educational Uses of the Internet, I regret that the internet and various technologies were not available when I was in school. Your ideas for topics sound interesting. Be sure to choose the one that lends itself best to making the participants do some higher order thinking.

You could also choose to do one for adults on fund-raising or a related topic. Remember webquests are not just for children!

Melanie-
Great Blog. I am looking forward to seeing your webquest is going to be. Karate or baking, I think students would enjoy either one. Good luck with the webquest.

Karate sounds like it would be interesting. I'm not positive what exactly it would incorporate... would it be learning the background of it? Or actually performing some of the moves?

Either way, and on whatever topic you decide upon, good luck with it.

Great photo of the dogs, too! I should post a pic of my dog.
